Bernard J. Guidos, 77, of Washington passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2015 in his home with his loving wife by his side.
He was born on March 4, 1938 in Canonsburg, a son of the late John and Bertha Greza Guidos.
Bernie loved fishing. When fishing with friends and one of the group would catch something, he would say “fish on, fish on” so everyone knew. He obtained his Captain’s license and chartered his boat for 10 years out of Lake Erie, Port Clinton, and Olcott, New York. Bernie also enjoyed camping and spent 34 years camping at Lake Erie Community Park until it closed.
Bernie retired from Washington Steel as an electrician after 38 devoted years.
On October 2, 1978 he married his beloved wife Karen L. Leo Guidos, who survives.
Also surviving are two sisters, Allisa (Tippy) Rajkovich of Lombard, IL and Emma Ewart of Phoenix, AZ; sister-in-law, Toni (Dave) O’Brien of Canton, MI; brothers-in-law, Billy Leo of Washington and Danny Leo of Waterford, MI; nieces, Barbara Curtis and Carolyn Griffith; and nephews, Clark, Corey, and Chad Griffith.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a brother, John Guidos; two sisters, Flo Guidos and Norma Day; and a brother-in-law, Jim Leo.
At the request of the deceased, all services and interment will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, Lin Webb funeral director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120.
