Barbara "Betty" Humble Dobbin age 81 of Canonsburg, died unexpectedly Tuesday, February 16, 2010 in The Washington Hospital.
She was born December 29, 1928, in Gaimersheim, Germany; the daughter of the late Xavier and Barbara Mueller Mader.
Mrs. Dobbin worked for Mac Plastics and retired as an assembler for Superior Valve.
She was a member of St. Patrick Church and belonged to their Christian Mothers.
Mrs. Dobbin lived for 46 years in Canonsburg.
She enjoyed her grandchildren, playing solitaire and crocheting.
Mrs. Dobbin was the last of her immediate family in Germany.
On November 11, 1982 she married Robert T. Dobbin who died on June 18, 1998.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol Ann Thornburg of Millersville, Md.; Barbara (Harry) Humble DeWitt of Canonsburg; son, Robert A. Humble of Canonsburg; two grandchildren, Chad and Julie DeWitt and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased also are son, Mark A. Humble and brother, Ludwig Mader.
Friends are welcome on Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120, where a Blessing Service will be held on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 9:30 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM in St. Patrick Church. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
Christian Mothers will recite rosary at 3:00 PM on Thursday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, family suggest donations be made to St. Patrick's Choir or to St. Patrick School Fund in Memory of Barbara.
