Arthur F. Kania

Arthur F. Kania age 84 of Canonsburg passed away unexpectedly Saturday October 10, 2015 in his home. He was born October 30, 1930 in Canonsburg a son of the late John F. and Mary Zovak Kania. Mr. Kania lived his life in Canonsburg where he graduated from Canonsburg High School and was a member of Sacred Heard of Jesus Polish National Church where he had served as usher. He proudly served as a corporal with the United States Army National Guard in Germany and was honorably discharged after three years’ service. Mr. Kania had been employed at the former McGraw-Edison Power Systems in Canonsburg and prior to his retirement had been in sales with Colt Plumbing. He had been a member of the White Eagles Society. On August 22, 1953 he married his beloved wife of 62 years Mary Artemko Kania who survives. Also surviving are two daughters; Beth K. (Michael) Mantalis of Canonsburg and M. Robin Kania of Peters Twp., two grandsons; Alexander and Patrick Raney, a brother Edward (Theresa) Kania of Canonsburg and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a brother Walter J. Kania who passed away March 11, 2005.
Friends are welcome from 6-8pm Tuesday October 13, 2015 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor,  Lin Webb funeral director 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where services will be held at 10am Wednesday October 14, 2015 with Father Richard Seiler officiating. Interment with full military rites accorded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 Honor Guard will immediately follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
