Arthur Scott Hallam age 79 of Canonsburg died Monday July 4, 2011 in Canonsburg General Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born August 7, 1931 in Washington a son of the late Cleon and Mable Armstrong Hallam. Mr. Hallam graduated from Trinity High School class of 1951, where he was very active in Football.
He served with the United States Army as a Military Policeman and was a self employed truck driver, and retired from Joy Manufacturing in Houston. On May 21, 1966 he married Betty Jane Bizzack who survives. Also surviving are his step daughter, Karen Lynne (Charles) Infantino of Davie Florida, a stepson John Richard (Laureen) Czemerda of West Virginia, a step grandson, Kenneth Wayne Czemerda, two brothers, John and Wayne Hallam both of Washington, a sister Elsie Todd of Bensenville, Illinois and several nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his faithful companions, his dogs Chanelle and Monique. Deceased are a son Artie Lee Hallam and a sister Lois Hallam.
Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8pm Wednesday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, 724-745-8120 where services will be held at 10am Thursday July 7, 2011 with pastor Frank Menhart, officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies; Cecil Twp.
