Anton A. Leban age 85 of McDonald (Gladden Heights) died Saturday March 27, 2010 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born November 28, 1924 in Imperial a son of Frank and Maria Cerv Leban. Mr. Leban served as a Seaman First Class with the United States Navy during World War II. Prior to his retirement on November 26, 1984 he served as a Chief Master Sergeant being Maintenance Manager of the 112th Jet Refueling Group of the Air National Guard of Pittsburgh.
Mr. Leban was Roman Catholic and lived most of his life in the Gladden Heights area. He was a member of the SNPJ lodge 138 and the AFU lodge both of Strabane and the National Guard Retirees.
On July 15, 1950 he married Mary L. Sivavec who survives. Also surviving are three daughters Linda Mahanay of Carnegie, Donna Leban of South Burlington Vermont, and Janice (Mark) Gearhart of Tampa Florida, a granddaughter Allison Grkman, a great-grandson, Luka Grkman, a brother Frank Leban of Barrington Vermont and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, 724-745-8120 where a blessing service will be held at 10 am Wednesday March 31, 2010. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Twp.
