Annie Kotyk

November 14, 1906 — June 23, 2015

Anna Kotyk age 108 of Canonsburg passed away peacefully Tuesday June 23, 2015 in Golden Living of South Hills. She was born November 14, 1906 in Canonsburg a daughter of the late Daniel and Maria Cygan Kotyk. Miss Kotyk lived her entire life in Canonsburg where she was a faithful member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church. She had been employed until 1950 at the former Continental Can Company, in the custodial department of Sears at South Hills Village and prior to her retirement the custodial department of the Canon McMillan School District. She had been a member of the Russian Brotherhood Organization and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 861, both of Canonsburg. Miss Kotyk enjoyed cooking and baking, especially her Paska. She is survived by two sisters; Nellie Koval of Bridgeville and Eva Cadez Kulik of Washington and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents are five brothers; Steve, Harry, Frank, William and John Kotyk and three sisters; Julia Verakis, Helen Kotyk and Pearl Kotyk.

Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8pm Thursday in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc.  Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, Lin Webb Funeral Director 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited at 9:30am Friday June 26, 2015. Liturgy will follow at 10 am in St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, Boone Avenue Canonsburg with the Very Reverend Joseph Oleynik, officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery Canonsburg. Parastas services will be held at 7pm Thursday in the funeral home.
