Ann M. Grassi age 93 of Canonsburg, formerly of Houston passed away Wednesday December 11, 2013 at 2:17 am in her home. She was born March 7, 1920 in Tennessee a daughter of the late Ellwood and Zula Parsons Lee. Mrs. Grassi was protestant by faith and in her youth had been a fashion model who had posed for one of the first color photographs made for an advertisement by Kodak. She was a hostess for the former Ernie's Delicatessen at South Hills Village, a home maker and avid card player who live in Houston since 1953 and the past seven years in Canonsburg. She was very meticulous about her home, dress and parties and enjoyed a good martini. Mrs. Grassi was a volunteer with the Ladies Auxiliary of Canonsburg General Hospital.
On August 10, 1948 she married Ercole "Art" Grassi who survives. Also surviving are two daughters'; Marie Spiker of Eighty Four and Edna Nixon of Panama City, Florida, a son Nelson Ercole (Sheila) Grassi of Charlotte N.C., her son in law Joe Shook (Stacy Proia) of Houston, twelve grandchildren, many great grand children, three great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her daughter Claudette Grassi Shook who passed away August 8, 2012, her sister Mary LoRocco who died March 1, 2008 and a granddaughter Carla Spiker.
At Mrs. Grassi's request there will be no public visitation
Services with Pastor Nathan Miller officiating and interment in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Twp. will be private for family members.
