Anne M. Barnes, 83, of Canonsburg went home on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Family Hospice and Palliative Care in Mt. Lebanon.
She was born on November 17, 1930 in Canonsburg, the daughter of the late George and Helen Kolar Stajduhar. Anne was the last of her immediate family.
She was a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge 567 in Canonsburg. Anne faithfully met with TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) every Tuesday in Canonsburg.
Anne had a love and zest for life that always made a positive impact on everyone around her. She enjoyed helping others and always made those around her smile. Her family was her life and she loved spending time with them. Anne was an exceptional dancer. She loved going dancing and was known to clear the dance floor!
On July 15, 1950 she married Frank R. Barnes, who passed away on March 23, 1995.
Surviving are her two loving children, Richard G. (Virginia) Barnes of McDonald and Jacqueline Anne (Don) Barnes Irwin of South Fayette; two grandchildren, Grant C. Barnes of Canonsburg and Douglas J. Barnes of McDonald; her beloved great granddaughter, Riley Anne Bowland of Midway; two nephews, John Gasper of Muse and Bob Gasper of Pitcairn; and a niece.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Matt Stajduhar, her twin brother, John Stajduhar, Sophie Malacky, and Catherine Gasper.
Friends are welcome from 11:00 AM " 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 6, 2014 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg where a funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Salvation Army, 225 W. Main Street, Carnegie, PA 15106.
