Anna Mae South, 73, of Canonsburg, died Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at 4:00 PM in her home.
She was born October 17, 1935 in Brooklyn, New York the daughter of Vincent and Margaret D'Arrigo Mellusi.
Mrs. South was a member of St. Patrick Church. She was a member of the Canonsburg Eagles Lodge 861 Ladies Auxillary.
Mrs. South was a homemaker, and was a resident of Canonsburg for 53 years.
She enjoyed flower gardening, was an avid bingo player, she liked to cook, and she also loved all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
On February 4, 1955 she married William A. South who died June 3, 2004.
Surviving are three sons, William (Judith) South and Roy (Theresa) South, both of Sanford, NC, and Francis South of Marianna. Five daughters, Ann Miller, Leanora (Duaine) Cypher, Rosemarie Young, Laura (Eric) Foley all of Canonsburg and Sarah (Stephen) Wessel of Hendersonville. A brother, Vincent Mellusi of Rochester, NY, a sister Laura Mellusi of Edison, NJ, twenty grandchildren, seven great grandchildren any many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, Owner/Supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg on Saturday from 6-8 PM and Sunday 2-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 22 at 10:00 AM in St. Patrick Church. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
