Ann Subrick age 93 of Eighty-four, died peacefully Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Consulate Health Care in North Strabane Twp.
She was born May 16, 1916 at Germyntown, Pennsylvania a daughter of Michael and Julia Pernik Gomber. Mrs. Subick was a graduate of Cecil High School and had been employed in the Dietary Departments of both Canonsburg General Hospital and Western Center School and Hospital. She was a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church Canonsburg.
On June 15, 1940 she married Carl Subrick who died April 26, 1991. Surviving is a son, Carl Subrick of Clayton Delaware and a daughter, Judi (John) Matok of Pittsburgh, four grandsons, Michael, James, Robert and William Subrick two great great-grandchildren Karra and Burke Subrick, and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are three brothers, Michael, John and Andrew Gomber who died in infancy, and six sisters, Ann Jandrich, Mary Anderson, Julia Walker, Helen Gomber, Eva Kacvinsky and Margaret Zubenko.
Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8pm Friday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike street Canonsburg, where a blessing service will be held at 9am Saturday, August 21, 2009 followed by Divine Liturgy at 9:30 in St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church with Reverend Joseph Jugan, Pastor as Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Canonsburg. Panachida services will be held at 7 pm Friday in the funeral home.
