Ann L. (Bazan) Polochak
Known as "Grandma Trovato"
Ann L. (Bazan) Plolchak age 90 of Canonsburg died Thursday July 15, 2010 in Washington Hospital following a brief illness. She was born January 19, 1920 in Canonsburg a daughter of the late Domenic and Eleanora Lombardi Casarcia.
Mrs. Polochak lived most of her life in the Canonsburg area and for a time in Arizona. She was a member of St. Patrick church, had been a member of the Moose Lodge and enjoyed cooking and baking for everyone. She had been employed at Hahn's Greenhouse, W.T. Grants in Pittsburgh and Travato's Restaurant, cooking with her daughter, where she was known as Grandma Travato.
On February 14, 1969 she married John Polochak who died March 23, 1994. Surviving are two daughters, Anna Marie (Joseph) Trovato and Cecilia Patterson both of Canonsburg, two sons Michael and Timothy Polochak both of Tucson Arizona, a sister Rose Casarcia of Canonsburg, a brother Frank Casarcia of Follansbee, West Virginia, Five grandchildren, Joseph and John Trovato, Eleanor Ann Cowser, Michele Paxton and Barbara Polochak, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two sisters, Lena Diana and Angelina Rufina, four brothers, Colombo, Guy, Joseph and Patsy Casarcia. She will be missed by the family dog Wrinkles.
Friends are welcome from 6-8pm Saturday and from 2-4 and 6-8pm Sunday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a blessing service will be held at 9:30am Monday July 19, 2010, followed at 10am by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick church. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Canonsburg.
