Ann G. Kereki age 87of Canonsburg, formerly of Houston, passed away peacefully on Monday July 8, 2013 in the Washington County Health Center. She was born September 13, 1925 in Benld, Macoupin County, Illinois a daughter of the late John and Susan Malik Hlbocan. Mrs. Kereki lived in Canonsburg for the past ten years where she was a member of St. Patrick church and prior to that in Houston since 1946. In addition to being a homemaker she had been employed in clerical positions at both the Washington City Mission in Canonsburg and the Canonsburg Public Library.
On August 2, 1941 she married Joseph J. Kereki who died June 9, 1994. Surviving are two daughters; Patricia Cypher (the late Harold) of North Strabane Twp. and Valarie (Tony) Gregor of Washington, two sons; Joseph A. (Marian) of Houston and David J. (Nadine) Kereki of St. Louis, Missouri, seven grandchildren; Suzanne Cypher, Harold J. (Annette) Cypher Jr., Jennifer (Eric) McClelland, Stephanie (Adam) Lloyd, Michele (Scott) Miller, Shawn (April) Kereki and Alyssa Kereki, ten great grand children and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Kereki was the last of her immediate family. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents is her Stepfather Frank Chunderlik, a brother John Hlbocan a sister, Agnes Hoffman and several stepbrothers.
Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8pm Wednesday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited at 9:30 am Thursday July 11, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Thursday in St. Patrick church followed by interment in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Twp. Mrs. Kereki's family suggest memorial contributions be made to Hillman Cancer Center 5115 Center Ave. #2 Pittsburgh (Shadyside) Penna. 15232 412-692-4724 or a charity of the donors choice.
