Angelo V. Mastrangelo age 85 of Canonsburg, died Sunday January 23, 2011 in Golden Living Center of South Hills. He was born August 10, 1925 in Castiglione Messer Marino Provenzia di Chietta, Italy a son of the late James and Clotilda Mastrangelo. Mr. Mastrangelo lived most of his life in Canonsburg where he was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. He served with the United States Army and was employed for 45 years as a welder at the former McGraw Edison and Cooper Power Systems in Canonsburg. On October 27, 1956 he married Mary L. Caruso, who survives. Also surviving is his daughter Ann Marie (Scot) Welshans Sr. of Colliers West Virginia, his son James D. "Lum" Mastrangelo of Canonsburg, three grandchildren, Danielle Welshans, Scot (April) Welshans Jr. and Anthony Mastrangelo, a sister Joann Marino and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a brother Felix Mastrangelo and a sister Beatrice Finney. Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8pm Tuesday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Wednesday January 26, 2011 in St. Patrick Church. Please meet at church. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Twp. Full military rites will be accorded by the VFW post 191 of Canonsburg and the American Legion post 902 of Houston honor guard.
