Andrew Timan age 84 of North Strabane Twp. died Thursday September 17, 2009 in McMurray Hills Manor.
He was born August 15, 1925 at Ginger Hill, a son of Andrew and Ann Fuziak Timan. He lived most of his life in the Muse and Canonsburg area and operated a farm in Nottingham Twp for ten years. He attended Cecil High school and until his retirement was last employed at Cooper Industries in the Electrical Maintenance Department. Mr. Timan served with the United States Marines during World War II, was a member of St Patrick church in Canonsburg and was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the U.S. Trotting Association and the Meadows Standard bred Owners Association and was owner of the Standard bred Marfa Newton.
On September 1, 1956, he married Theresa Ann Martin, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters Lori (Paul Stilp) Timan of Alexandria VA, and Sandra (Mark) Hayduk of Canonsburg, a grandson Michael Andrew Hayduk a brother, William Timan of Colorado and two sisters, his twin Margaret McIntyre of Hialeah, Florida and Sue Ross of Pittsburgh and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a brother Alec Timan and four sisters, Marie McQuarrie, Helen Belleno, Dorothy Arnold and Ann Holinscak.
Friends are welcome Sunday from 2-8 PM in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, PA, 724-745-8120 where a blessing service will be held on Monday, September 21, at 9:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in St. Patrick Church followed by interment in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Full military rites will be accorded by VFW Post 191 of Canonsburg and American Legion Post 902 of Houston.
