Andrew Drilak age 80 of Houston passed away peacefully with his family by his side at 9am Saturday July 7, 2012 in his home. He was born July 31, 1931 in Johnstown a son of the late John and Ann Katanchik Drilak.
Mr. Drilak served with the United States Army. He lived in Houston for 45 years and was a member of St. Patrick Church in Canonsburg. He had been employed as a bricklayer with Cost Construction and was a member of Brick Layers Union #2. Mr. Drilak volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed Cooking and baking, sports, fishing, church, giving a helping hand to others and spending time with his beloved family.
On December 28, 1953 he married Margaret Selva who survives. Also surviving are four sons; Andrew Drilak of Meadowlands, Daniel (Cathy) Drilak of Washington, John (Jodi) Drilak of Claysville and Patrick (Pamela) Drilak of East Millsboro, two daughters: Kathleen (William) Macik of Avella and Jacqueline (Jeffery) Robinson of Newport News, VA., four sisters Mary (Martin) Plute of Lawrence, Ann E. Richard, Helen Jacoby and Teresa Boyd all of Canonsburg, sixteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased is his brother John Drilak who died in infancy.
Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8pm Monday July 9, 2012 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg (724) 745-8120 where a blessing service will be held at 9:30am Tuesday July 10, 2012. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am in St. Patrick Church 317 West Pike Street Canonsburg. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. Full military rites will be accorded by the VFW post 191 of Canonsburg and the American Legion post 902 of Houston combined honor guard.
