Anastasia M. Godfrey, age 44, of Cecil Twp. passed away Friday, September 6, 2013 in Center for Compassionate Care, Mt. Lebanon surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 27, 1968 in Washington a daughter of Anna Louise O'Hare Marinelli of Muse and the late Mario "Butch" Marinelli who died Sunday March 3, 2004. She lived her life in Cecil and Muse where she was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church and its Alter Society. She was a graduate of Canon McMillan High School, attended the Wilma Boyd School and had been employed as a mortgage coordinator at NVB Mortgage in Southepointe. Anastasia loved life and enjoyed hairdressing for her family and friends. She was an avid scrap booker who was in the process of putting together a book for her son at the time of her death.
On July 22, 1995 she married Gerald D. Godfrey who survives. Surviving in addition to her husband and mother is her beloved son Ian G. Godfrey at home, her brother Mario J. (Lori) Marinelli of Pleasant Hills, her sister, Belinda A. Marinelli (fiancAC. George Tayvinsky) of Champion, her in laws Richard l. and Gloria E. Godfrey of Cecil and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends are welcome from 2-8pm Sunday and Monday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited at 9:20am Tuesday September 10, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Tuesday in Holy Rosary Church, Muse with Reverend George T. DeVille, as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Church Cemetery, Cecil. The Christian Mothers and Alter Society of Holy Rosary will recite the rosary at 2pm Sunday in the funeral home.
