Alice McCaffrey

. Alice M. McCaffrey age73 of Villa Maria formerly of Muse, passed away Monday August 8, 2011 in Passavant Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born September 8, 1937 in Avella a daughter of the late Michael and Edna Frederick Pollock. Mrs. McCaffrey lived most of her life in Muse where she was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church. She had been church secretary for 40 years and was a member of the Christian Mothers and Guild. She graduated from Avella Heights High School with the class of 1955.
Alice was a woman of deep faith and unselfish love. She loved spending time with family and friends and will be most remembered for her radiant smile and contagious laugh.
On April 9, 1956 she married John J. (Jay) McCaffrey who died September 1, 1988. Surviving are three
son's, Paul J. (JoAnn) McCaffrey of New Bedford, Reverend Joseph R. McCaffrey of Sewickley and Peter J. (Christina) McCaffrey of Sharpsville. Deceased is a grandson Jonathan Ryan McCaffrey.
Friends are welcome from 1-8pm Wednesday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, where the rosary will be recited at 3pm by the Christian Mothers of Holy Rosary. On Thursday August 11, 2011 friends will be greeted from 9-11am in St's John and Paul Parish 2586 Wexford Bayne Road Sewickley, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am with the Reverend Joseph R. McCaffrey as celebrant and Bishop David Zubik, presiding. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery; Peters Twp. Memorial donations are suggested to St's. John and Paul Parish building fund.
