Alice R. Jeffers age 82 of Venetia, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 in her home surrounded by her family.
She was born September 22, 1927 in Pittsburgh, the daughter of Josephine Duglass Mikee.
Mrs. Jeffers was a devoted home maker, wife mother, and grandmother.
She was a 50 year member of Peters Creek Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Jeffers was an avid gardener, who loved to travel and was a stock market enthusiast.
In her earlier days she enjoyed to play the piano and loved to listen to classical music.
For 55 years she lived in Venetia with her husband of 62years Thomas Jeffers who where married on March 31, 1941 and survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Susan (Tom) Edwards of La Canada, Calif.; Jane (Steven Hager) Jeffers of Haverhill, Mass.; two sons, Gary Jeffers of McMurray, Pa.; Douglas (Patricia) Jeffers of San Antonio, TX.; three grandchildren, Julian Ramos, Keenan and Jack Jeffers; and many cousin, nieces and nephews.
Friends are welcome on Saturday, January 30, 2010 from 11:00 AM to Noon the time of the service at Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, Pa. 724-745-8120. Interment will be private and will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. Family suggest in lieu of flowers to make a donation of ones choice in Memory of Alice.
