Albert (Hoopy) Summers, Jr.

Albert (Hoopy) Summers Jr. age 81 of Muse died unexpectedly Tuesday February 28, 2012 in Allegheny General Hospital. He was born January 17, 1931 in Opkissha, West Virginia, a son of the late Albert Sr. and Helen Virginia Summers. Mr. Summers was protestant by faith and had lived in Muse for the past 42 years. He was a union carpenter by trade and was a member of the Heavy Highway Carpenters local 2274. Mr. Summers was a school crossing guard in Muse and had served with the United States Army Air corps.
On November 13, 1947 he married Maxine May Satterfield who died March 5, 1991. On August 24, 1993 he married Georgienne Bell who survives. Also surviving are three daughters; Margaret J. McKreana, Linda J. (John) Daugherty and Elsie (Martin) Summers all of Washington, four sons: Wayne G. (Antoinette) Summers of McKees Rocks, William Mike (Vickie) Summers of Claysville, John A. (Sandi) Summers of Washington and Ray V. (Jamie) Summers of Muse, two stepchildren; Aileene and David Bell both of Muse a brother Thomas Summers of Fairmont West Virginia, two sisters; Naioma Culp of Fairmont West Virginia and Helen "Toy" (Lesley) Neel of Sullivan Ohio, seventeen grandchildren, twenty nine great grand children and one great-great grandson and many nieces and nephews. Deceased is a brother Ray Summers and two sisters; Margaret Culp and Eddie May Carr.
Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8pm Thursday March 1, 2012 in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120. Additional visitation will be held Friday from 1-8 pm in the Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home 209 Merchant Street Fairmont West Virginia 304-366-4671 where services will be held at 11am Saturday March 3, 2012. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
