Ada W. (McCarthy) Smith

Ada W. Smith, 90 of Canonsburg passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 in her home.

She was born on December 1, 1928 in Washington County to Daniel and Hazel Bird McCarthy who preceded her in death.

She was married to the late John Smith.

Ada was a nurses aide at Mayview State Hospital for many years until her retirement.

Mrs. Smith enjoyed going to the casino in her spare time.

She is survived by her son Anthony DelGatti (Susan) of Bel Air, Maryland, her sister Ruth Hawkins of Southview, her good friend Marsha Chambers, five grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son George McGinnis, her brother Charles McCarthy and her two sisters Annabele McGinnis and Mary Wolford.

Friends are welcome from 2~4 and 6~8 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, LFD owner/supervisor and Darla A. Tripoli, LFD, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120 where funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, 3739 Washington Road, McMurray.
