November 19, 1933 — April 2, 2018

Roy Junior Leichty age 84 of Canonsburg passed away peacefully at 8:35am Monday April 2, 2018 in his home. He was born November 19, 1933 in Accident Maryland a son of the late Roy J. and Freda Bowser Leichty. He lived most of his life in the Muse area and was Methodist by faith. He served with the United States Army with the 2nd Recon Squad 10th Cav. and was a member of the Muse Independent Club. Mr. Leichty had been employed in his younger years with George Antoinette then at the former Forbes Steel Corporation until its closing. Prior to his retirement being a skilled carpenter, he had been employed for many years with Leichty Construction Company. Mr. Leichty was an avid hunter and fisherman. On September 22, 1956 he married Mary D. Tatano who survives after 61 years of marriage. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved children; Diana Dellorso and her husband Edward of Cecil, Roseanne Suitor of Brownsville, Darlene Monaco and her husband Michael of South Park and Roy J. Leichty and his wife Shelly of Canonsburg, 7 grandsons, three great grandsons, his sister Joyce Gregg and her husband Buddy of Eighty-Four, his brother Mark Leichty of Houston and many nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents are three brothers; David A. Leichty, Roger L. Leichty and Dale D. Leichty, and his sister Bonnie Reese.

Friends and family are welcome from 2-8pm Thursday April 5, 2018 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor; Darla Tripoli LFD 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where services will be held at 10am Friday April 6, 2018. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery Peters Twp. with full military rites accorded by the VFW Post 191 Honor Guard and the United States Army.
