Michael R. Melnyk, 28 of Canonsburg passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday, September 25, 2016 in Canonsburg.
He was born on April 15, 1988 in Upper St. Clair to Gary Melnyk and Kim McDonald Selva (Joe) who survives.
Mr. Melnyk was a Methodist by faith. He worked as a construction worker for many years. Michael was passionate about skateboarding. He was loved dearly by his family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his mother and father, he is survived by one sister Mariah A. Selva of Canonsburg, his maternal grandparents Lynda Rubis of Canonsburg and Albert McDonald (Tammy) of Muse, his paternal grandmother, Bev Moore of Texas, grandmother Hazel (Robert) Clifford of Washington and grandpap Joe Selva of Canonsburg, seven aunts Kayla (Ryan) Colon of Muse, Brittani McDonald of Muse, Chantal Cumer of Canonsburg, Lisa McDonald of Eighty Four, Donna Wright of Washington, Tina Powell of Greene County, Marla Melnyk of Texas and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 and 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Thursday, September 29, 2016 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where funeral services will be held at 11:00a.m. on Friday, September 30, 2016. Interment to follow at Oak Spring Cemetery Canonsburg.
