Joan A. Billante

Joan A. Billante age 80 of Chartiers Twp. passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, November 29, 2023, in her home. She was born December 10, 1942, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late John and Helen Murray Snyder. Joan lived in Crafton and Scott Twp., prior to moving to Chartiers Twp. where she lived with her family for 26 years. She was a graduate of Holy Innocence High School, class of 1960 and was an owner of J&D Home Improvement in Canonsburg. Mrs. Billante was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church St. Oscar Romero Parish in Meadowlands. She has been a member of the Red Hat Club, enjoyed playing Scrabble, swimming, musical theater, shopping, shrimp tacos, ice skating and movies. She last played ping pong this Thanksgiving, and most of all loved being with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events. Joan Loved her family and enjoyed being together with them. On November 10, 1965, she married Joseph William Billante who died May 28, 2007, after 41 years of marriage. Left behind to cherish her memory are her devoted children, Laureen J Trovato and her husband John of North Strabane Twp., Kimberly A. Billante of Cummings GA, Joseph W. Billante Jr. of Canonsburg, Michelle L. Barnhart and her husband Brian of North Strabane Twp, her beloved grandchildren, Anna Cononge, Perry Barnhart, Sebastiano and Dino Trovato, Mela Barnhart, Anthony Parisi and Alivia Billante, her brothers, John Snyder of Houston Texas and Edward Snyder (Susan) of Crafton and her sister Lorraine Nickel of Chartiers Twp. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents is her dear grandson Massimo Trovato who passed away December 15, 2005.

Friends and family are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday December 5, 2023, in SALANDRA FUNERAL and CREMATION SERVICES, INC. Joseph P. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am in St. Patrick Church St. Oscar Romero Parish, 317 West Pike Street Canonsburg. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery,  Peters Twp.
