Irene M. Popp, 86 of Canonsburg passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017 in Canonsburg Hospital.
She was born on January 25, 1931 in Strabane to John and Anna Seimen Yarkosky who preceded her in death.
She was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Canonsburg.
She was employed by RCA and then Canon-McMillan School District as a cafeteria worker until her retirement.
Irene was a kind, gentle and compassionate woman. She enjoyed cooking, playing Bingo and listening to polka music. She was a member of the KSKJ and SNPJ of Strabane and the French Club in the East End.
She enjoyed watching all of the Pittsburgh sports teams and was an avid fan.
Above all, her family was her priority. She loved her family dearly and generously.
She is survived by her children David A. Popp, Diane I. Felton (Terry), and Mark A. Popp all of Canonsburg, her beloved grandchildren David A. Popp, Jr., Alicia Davidson, Joshua Allen Popp and Elizabeth Popp, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, August, John, Raymond Yarkosky and a brother George Yarkosky who died in infancy.
Friends are welcome from 2~4 & 6~8 p.m. on Monday, October 9, 2017 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120 where a blessing service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery Canonsburg.
